How to predict the future

Sometimes, just sometimes you see something and you just know how some person's day will go. For example...

Prisoner said I ate my EYE

...but the judge says he ain't crazy.

A Texas death row inmate with a history of mental problems pulled out his only good eye and told authorities he ate it.

Andre Thomas, 25, was arrested for the fatal stabbings of his estranged wife, their young son and her 13-month-old daughter in March 2004. Their hearts also had been ripped out. He was convicted and condemned for the infant's death.

While in the Grayson County Jail in Sherman, Thomas plucked out his right eye before his trial later in 2004. A judge subsequently ruled he was competent to stand trial.

A death-row officer at the Polunsky Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice found Thomas in his cell with blood on his face and took him to the infirmary.

""Thomas said he pulled out his eye and subsequently ingested it," agency spokesman Jason Clark said Friday.

Religious vs non-religious

I have wondered many times over the last forty years of my life why a number of the religious get so bent out of shape when someone does not believe as they do. If someone is not out to cause you bodily harm why do the believers rant so about the non-believing? And then there are the believers who condemn those who do not follow the exact steps of the faith they have chosen. For example: I remember a couple of eight year old girls who were friends. One was a Methodist and the other a Baptist. The Methodist girl attended a summer vacation Bible class for a few days with her Baptist friend at her Baptist church. On the third day the youth pastor stopped by and asked the Methodist girl if she was new to the church. The little girl replied that she was not a member of the church but was enjoying the week of faith with her friend. The youth pastor then proceeded to tell the Methodist girl that she was damned and going to burn in the eternal fires of Hell because she was not a Baptist. What a nice man of God.

The point is that if you believe if you follow the tenants of your faith you and those who believe as you do will all end up living for eternity in Heaven. Leave the non-believers alone and let them succumb to their fate.

Here's a bit from something I came across. Go to the link at the end of it to read the entire article and comments.

....There does not exist a hatred of 'god' that is assumed by many a believer, it is impossible to hate what one views as non-existent, but...

---SKIP-

Do not take offense at atheism as a rejection of your favorite deity, it is a disbelief in all deities and what I hate is the anthropomorphic characters described by world religions and the acts carried out in their names.

Don't get ill and get your rant on with me. Go to the link (given below) where this came from.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.~ John Lennon
