Photos, videos, and articles to tickle your funny bone, make you think or scratch your head. Yeah that's right; sometimes I'm not right. I'm just having fun and sharing it with those curious enough to come here. If you want to argue a point seek out another venue.

'The Hand of the Desert'

Near Antofagasta in the Atacama desert of Chile stands a giant hand scuplture of fiberglass, a great work of the Chilean artist Mario Irrizábal. It is known in Chile as 'La Mano del Desierto' - 'The Hand of the Desert', it is a landmark about a quarter mile (in a straight line) west of the Panamerican highway which runs north to south through the Atacama desert.

Other photos, not included here, show that even out in the desert people marked it up with grafitti and their names...society is a mess.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.~ John Lennon
