It has been at least ten or more years since I visited Chattanooga, Tennessee. We visited their aquarium when it was fairly new, walked all over the city, lunched at the Choo-Choo and had dinner overlooking the city. Our motel room had an excellent peaceful view of the interstate and the city in general. Our visit was excellent and very safe...back in the early/mid 1990s.
From a very new web site link I found on Cellar Image of the Day it seems there have been changes made in the border city beneath Lookout Mountain. It appears there are street walkers plying their trade on the main street. That is something decidedly not worth running into with the family in tow...or from the looks of it not wanting to come close to at all under any circumstance. What is that? A zombie?
The new web site set up by a concerned citizen trying to run the street trade off can be found at http://www.trickthejohns.com/ If you go to that web site it was made using a wide screen monitor so you will have to scroll to the right to view all the content.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.~ John Lennon
