Ages Pain
You don’t know the pain I know.
You haven't felt what I’ve felt.
The feeling of muscle and tendon ripping
and bones fracturing,
cracking to pieces,
and the pain of reaching out
but never touching that which you
reach for.
You don’t understand what it’s like to
feel alone,
misshapen,
cast aside,
utterly helpless to the onslaught of
torment.
You’ve never had memories choke you down,
never had to gasp for breath
unable to swim amongst the confusion
unable to surface,
just to bring your head above the
chaos
to glimpse the serenity so out of reach.
There is nothing to be done anymore.
I’m a puppet
too weak to pull my own strings,
move my own limbs,
protect those I love,
honor those I once loved
those who fell by your hand
just as I,
those who lost their will
just as I.
You hold your head high,
but bow down to my level
know what it is like to feel useless
only then may you know my
pride.
